Dad's Headshot

I’m Jack D’Aurora, a business lawyer and partner with the Behal Law Group. I help our clients with business transactions and, if need be, represent them in court.

A native of Steubenville, Ohio, I graduated from Notre Dame and was commissioned in the U.S. Navy in 1977. I received my Naval Flight Officer wings in 1978 and was assigned to an F-14 squadron in San Diego in 1979. During two western Pacific deployments, I logged over 300 carrier-arrested landings with Fighter Squadron 51 aboard the U.S.S. Kitty Hawk.

I began my law studies at night in 1983 while still serving on active duty in Washington, D.C. After graduating from the Georgetown Law Center, I returned to San Diego, where I practiced law from 1987 to 1991 and flew with reserve F-14 squadrons.

I came to Columbus in 1991 and am active in the community. I am a member of the Columbus Bar Association’s¬†Lawyer’s Quarterly¬†editorial board, a former member of the Children’s Hunger Alliance Central Ohio Board, active in the Kiwanis Club of Columbus, and I handle pro bono cases through the Lawyers for Justice Program and Legal Aide.

I look for opportunities to speak in public about the subjects I cover on this blog. You can reach me at jdaurora@behallaw.com.

The Georgetown connection is all the cred you need. And, I suppose, because you are a fab writer and my choice for mayor of Columbus.

Ohio’s Governor, John Kasich, who considers himself a moderate is making every effort to limit voting opportunities/rights. He is originally from PA and his background is that he’s Croation so we do have some things in common: however, he disappoints me when he uses tactics to limit voting rights. I’m quite a bit older than the Governor, and I would like to remind him that he should think about the immigrants who came here mainly because of the freedoms the United States offered. Perhaps his grandparents/great grandparents would fall into that category, and he should also remember why he was voted into office. Does it mean so much to him to have this blot on his record? Shame on him.

Helen, I’m with you in concept. What “tactics” are you thinking of? JD

The Governor plans to restrict voting hours, block early voting, etc. He supports limiting some of the powers of the Secretary of State of Ohio. It seems he has some concerns about Nina Turner winning the next election.
